YCL cards are free to all York County residents, property owners, workers, and students of higher education. To get a Library card, visit your local YCL location or the Bookmobile and bring a valid, current proof of identity and residency. To apply for an eCard (available for accessing our digital services only), complete an online library card application.

Library cards expire every two years and must be renewed. Cards can be renewed online or by calling or visiting your local YCL location.

Each York County Library branch offers public computers with Internet access, as well as color printing, free W-Fi, mobile printing and HotSpots, and a variety of other technology services. To access computers, you must agree to our Computer Use Policy.

Through outreach programs and the Bookmobile, York County Library provides books, materials, and library services to dozens of locations throughout the county, including daycares, after-school groups, and homebound residents.

Library Lockers allow users to pick up requested materials easily with the swipe of a valid York County Library card, 24 hours a day.

With the exception of the Main Library in Rock Hill, all York County Library locations provide meeting rooms for use by non-profit organizations or community groups, free of charge. Usage is subject to our Meeting Room Policy.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is used to borrow materials York County Library does not own from other libraries. This service is available by request and subject to certain restrictions.
