Shaping the Future of York County Library

Between April 6 and May 15, 2026, York County Library conducted a public survey to gather feedback on our services, programs, and facilities. We received an incredible 932 survey responses from residents across the county!

Thank you to everyone who shared their input to help guide the future of York County Library. Your feedback is invaluable for our 2026 strategic planning, and we want to share exactly what we learned from our community.

Expanded Programs: More children's, teen, and adult lifelong learning programs.

Strategic Planning Process

York County Library officially kicked off its partnership with ReThinking Libraries on June 15, 2026. Together, we are launching a comprehensive, data-driven study with the goal of completing our next Strategic Plan by the end of 2026.

To create a plan that truly reflects York County, our process will focus on three major pillars over the coming months:

Data Analysis: The consultants are reviewing library usage data, building traffic, and collection trends to better understand how our libraries are being used and where future opportunities may exist.

Facility Assessments: Using the existing facilities study, the consultants will conduct services and facility self-assessments to gather additional information and evaluate how our buildings and spaces can better serve our growing communities.

Community Engagement: This summer and fall, look for opportunities to share your input at community engagement sessions, outreach activities, and other events, all designed to help shape future spaces, services, and resources at York County Library.
