Computer & Internet Access

Public computers with Internet access, Microsoft Office, and other software for adults and children are available at all York County Library locations. Some computers may limit time, Internet access, or for use such as reference, word processing, or genealogy only. All locations also offer free Wi-Fi access.

Usage Guidelines: Use of Library computers requires agreeing to our policies for Library Cards and Computer and Internet Use.

  • A valid York County Library card for a resident/non-resident or Internet only is required. Minors under 18 must also have signed permission from a parent or guardian (for Internet access, children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times).

  • Patrons sharing a computer must have staff permission and agree to the computer policy.

  • To request an available computer, sign in with library staff.

  • Computer use is limited to 60-minute sessions (15 minutes for "express" computers) during business hours, up to a maximum of 3 hours per day.

For full usage guidelines, review the complete Computer and Internet Use Policy.

Mobile HotSpots

York County Library is pleased to provide T-Mobile HotSpots for checkout. Patrons in our community with limited or no Internet access can use the T-Mobile 4G LTE network to watch videos, play games, or be productive anywhere coverage is available. For full details, see Mobile HotSpots.

Printing & Copying

Library Printing: Printing from library computers and copiers is available at each library location. Black and white copies are 15¢ per page, and color copies are 25¢ per page. Scanners and fax services are not available to the public.

Mobile Printing: Patrons can send documents and photos to print at library printers using a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or other internet-connected device. Costs are 15¢ per black and white page and 25¢ per color page, with 24 hours to pick up print jobs. For more information and instructions, see Mobile Printing.

Technology Center

All York County Library cardholders are free to access the available computers and tools within the Main Library Technology Center. Users must also agree to follow the Library's Computer and Internet Use Policy. The Technology Center was created in part by a generous local donation and a Gates Learning Foundation Grant.

  • Friday – Saturday: 9:10 a.m. – 5:50 p.m.

Technology Tutoring

York County Library is not currently providing one-on-one, in-person computer or technology tutoring sessions, but limited assistance is available via telephone for brief questions on basic computer use, the Internet, Microsoft Office, resume and career resources, or similar topics. To get help, call your local Library branch.

Devices for the Visually Impaired

Low-vision assistive devices for patrons with visual impairment are available to check out for in-library use only. Available items vary by location and include magnifiers, large print keyboards, a portable video magnifier, and desktop video magnifiers. See a staff member for assistance.
