All York County Library Locations will Reopen October 15

The next phase of our reopening plan begins Thursday, October 15. The following in-person services will begin:

  • Branch operating hours will be the same as curbside hours.

  • Browsing and borrowing materials (we recommend a visit of 15 minutes in consideration of other patrons waiting to enter).

  • Checkout and general assistance at service desks

  • Take and Make Kits available (kits vary by location)

  • Computer use limited to 30-minute sessions

  • Curbside pickup for holds and mobile printing

For your health and safety:

  • Please wear a mask inside the library.

  • Please do not enter the library if you are feeling sick or have a temperature over 100.4°F.

  • Space is limited in the library due to social distancing, so you may experience a wait before entering a branch.

  • Patrons and staff must maintain six feet of distance from other people, when possible.

  • Public programs, seating areas, tables, meeting rooms, and water fountains are unavailable; however, virtual programs will continue.

  • Returns are accepted at outside book drops only.

  • All items returned are being quarantined for 96 hours before they are processed, checked back in, and recirculated.

  • Staff are not handling cash at this time.

YCL locations are open for limited curbside services only. Curbside Pick-Up & Phone Service Hours:

Rock Hill: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday

Anyone with a regular, physical York County Library card can check out materials they have placed on hold (books, audiobooks, DVDs, ILLs, and HotSpots). Patrons with eCards can have them converted to a regular York County Library card by calling their local YCL location during curbside pickup hours. Outside book drops remain open, and items will be properly quarantined for 4 days (96 hours) before being checked in. Notifications of overdue items will be made during this time, and overdue fees will be waived once items are checked in. Please call your nearest YCL location during curbside service hours to notify staff before returning Book Club Kits and Kinder Kits. For more information, see our Phase 2 Overview, continue to check our website and Facebook page, or contact us. Thank you for your patience.

What the Community is Saying About YCL ...

I am so grateful for all the on-line resources and curbside service. I miss my in-person book club! I think our library does an outstanding job of serving all the public with not the biggest budget.
