Closing Notice: As a result of potential exposure to Covid-19 from positive testing, Fort Mill Public Library is temporarily closed. The safety of our libraries, patrons, and staff is a top priority. Standard protocol for exposure will be followed, which includes closing for staff to quarantine for 14 days, encouraging tests for themselves and their families, and deep cleansing of the building. During this closing:

  • Curbside services and book drops will be unavailable.

  • No fines or fees will be charged.

  • Holds will remain at the branch until reopening. Holds already in transit cannot be redirected to another location.

  • Items can be returned at other branch libraries or held until reopening.

Our goal is to reopen Fort Mill Monday, December 7. Please continue to check our website and social media for updates, and thank you for your patience and support during this difficult time.

Interlibrary Loans: Please return interlibrary loan materials inside the library only. Do not use outside book drops.

All York County Library Locations are Now Open for Limited In-Person Services

As part of Phase 3 of our reopening plan, the following in-person services are now available:

  • Browsing and borrowing materials (we recommend a visit of 30 minutes in consideration of other patrons waiting to enter).

  • Computer use limited to 30-minute sessions

  • Curbside pickup for holds and mobile printing

What the Community is Saying About YCL ...

I am so grateful for all the on-line resources and curbside service. I miss my in-person book club! I think our library does an outstanding job of serving all the public with not the biggest budget.
