Digital Services Updates
Updated April 1, 2021
Even though YCL has had to make operational changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have many digital services available to you on our All Resources, Homework Help, Online Learning, Self-Publishing, and Virtual Library pages. We are continuing to make updates to these services and more, to better serve you:
Dial-A-Story - Patrons can call the Library’s Dial-A-Story phone line at 803-620-8585. You'll hear stories for adults, teens, and children, as well as music and songs, poetry, jokes and riddles, history tidbits, trivia, and more! You can also listen and download online at our Dial-A-Story page.
TeenBookCloud features graphic novels, enhanced novels, eBooks, classic literature, National Geographic videos, educator resources, and audiobooks for grades 7-12.
Tutor.com offers live tutoring for K-12 students with Live Homework Help, WriteTutor Center, Test Prep Center, SkillsCenter, and Resource Library. Connect with a live tutor from 8:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m., seven days per week.
TumbleMath features the most comprehensive collection of math stories available anywhere in the TumbleBook format, complete with animation and narration.
Mobile Printing - Patrons can send documents and photos to print at library printers using a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or other internet-connected device. Costs are 15¢ per black and white page and 25¢ per color page, with 24 hours to pick up print jobs. For more information and instructions, see Mobile Printing.
York County Library eCard - Access to digital services is available to patrons with a YCL eCard, a temporary library card number available to York County, SC, residents only. An email address is required. Applications will be processed within 24 hours of receipt, Monday through Friday. To get a physical YCL card, eCard holders may call their local YCL branch during curbside pickup hours.
Online Library Card Renewal - Library cards expire every two years, but you can now conveniently renew your card online! A library staff member will review the information and process the renewal. You may also call or visit your local YCL location to renew your card.
SC Codes - SC Codes is a learning platform and coding community, connecting South Carolinians to free education and resources to unlock careers in technology, while also training and empowering programmers across our state. Join SC Codes on YouTube for live insights and Q&A during "Mentor Mondays" each Monday at 7 p.m. EST.
