The H. L. Hunley Submarine
Highlighted at Library Program
A program on the Civil War era submarine, the Hunley, will be presented on Tues., Nov. 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the York County Library, 138 E. Black Street, Rock Hill.
Christopher Amer, State Underwater Archaeologist and Head of the Maritime Research Division of the SC Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, will discuss the history of the Hunley, excavation and recovery efforts in 2000, excavation of the boat’s interior, identification and burial of the crew and future plans for the submarine.
No registration is required for the free program, suitable for ages 12 and up.
