Donations to the York County Library

Donate your unwanted books!

Used Book Donations

Friends of the Library Book Sales are made possible by donations of used books. Donations of books for adults and children, as well as audio and video materials, such as CDs, audio books, DVDs, and record albums, are accepted at all York County Library locations. Donations are tax-deductible. The value of the donation is to be determined by the donor.

If you have questions about items you would like to donate or very large donations and need help unloading them, call 803-981-5837. At this time, we do not offer a pick-up service for donations.

Please Note: The library cannot accept encyclopedia sets, magazines, Reader's Digest condensed books, textbooks, or books in poor condition (missing pages, covers, or water damage).

Donations in Honor or Memory

The York County Library allows donations to be made in honor or memory of someone. The donations will be used to purchase the requested book, which will include a personalized book plate. The minimum donation required is $25 for a book and $50 for an audio book. To make a donation, please fill out a donation form. Make checks payable to York County Library. Mail your check and completed form to: York County Library, PO Box 10032, Rock Hill, SC 29731. All donations to York County Library are tax-deductible.
