Brainfuse is an online tutoring service which offers help from real, live tutors. Brainfuse can be accessed via your computer at home or from the Library’s in-house computers – at absolutely no charge to York County Library cardholders. Live tutors are available Sunday - Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST.

HelpNow offers students three powerful online learning options:

  • Expert Help: Get live online homework help, skills building, writing assistance, and more from Brainfuse-certified tutors.
  • Study Suite: Features Test Center, Flashbulb, and contains powerful assessment and learning tools.
  • Collaboration Suite: Form study groups with friends, work on class projects, and share knowledge with others using this innovative collaboration suite.


The Adult Learning Center is a unique academic skills center featuring live online tutoring, test preparation, writing assistance, and other services designed to help adults acquire critical (and marketable) academic skills. The Adult Learning Center consists of the following services:

  • Live Tutoring for assignments and coursework.
  • Live Skills Building to master academic skills through live, one-to-one lessons in math, reading, and writing.
  • Expert Writing Assistance to help adult patrons produce better business letters, term papers, or any other piece of writing.
  • Test Prep Center provides 24/7 access to hundreds of tests, including GED tests, skills assessments, and a U.S. Citizenship Test.


Brainfuse is not available for use on the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • President’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve and New Year's Day
