Friends of the Library Book Sales

The Friends of the Library helps raise funds for York County Library through book sales at Friends Books on Main, at library branches and other local sites, and online. Friends book sales are made possible by donations of good-condition used books, DVDs, and audiobooks. To find book sale dates, see the Events Calendar.

Friends Books on Main

Friends Books on Main is a used book store operated by the Friends of the York County Library. The store features thousands of books, DVDs and audiobooks at bargain prices and is open to the public at:


206 East Main Street in
Old Town Rock Hill, SC

(across from the Gettys Center
and Amelie’s French Bakery),

Thursdays – Saturdays,
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.


All proceeds benefit York County Libraries. Items are priced at:

  • Books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks: $2
  • Children’s and teen books: $1
  • Mass-market paperbacks: 50˘

Fiction Book Sales

These smaller sales are held in rotation at York County branch libraries and offer hardcover and paperback fiction for adults and children's books, bargain-priced from 50˘ to $2.

Ongoing Book Sales

Donated books are sold year-round at the Main Library in Rock Hill and at all York County Library branches. Books are in "gently-used" condition and include titles for all ages, DVDs, and audiobooks.
